Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow.

This happened  when I was an elementary school student.

I belonged to the table tennis club until I graduated from elementary school. The room to do club activity was on the second floor of the old school building. One day, since other club members were on cleaning duty, I decided to go there ahead of everyone else.

 “I’m going to go ahead”

 “Sure.”

When I arrived at the front of the room, I heard “lively” voices from the inside. I thought some people had already come, but …….

The moment I opened the door,

 …Silence……

 There was nobody there.

“I wonder if everyone is in the next room.” I thought, and I opened the door next to the room.

 …Silence……

 Nobody there!

What in the world were those voices?

 “yiiiiiiiiiipe!!”

I ran away to the new school building where other members are.

I found out later that the room had been used as the music room before and the elementary school has had a story below for many decades.

Long ago, a teacher called “Haruko-Sensei” often played the piano with some students in this room after school. Especially she loved the Japanese children’s song, “Haru ga Kita”, so she always played it.

She was very popular among students here, but one day, she had a serious illness and passed away. Since then, when people went through the front of the room, they sometimes came to hear the  key of G on the piano. Some of them said “Haruko-Sensei is playing the piano !” because her favorite song “Haru-ga-kita” begins with the  key of G on the piano.

The piano was removed from the room after the new school building was built, the room was no longer the music room. The sound of the piano can no longer be heard, but instead, the “lively” voices have started to be heard since then.

Perhaps I might have heard the voices of the “students” playing in “the music room” with Haruko-Sensei.

 “Sure.”

When I arrived at the front of the room, I heard “lively” voices from the inside.”
